Help wanted at Kay County Election Board

Help is wanted at the Kay County Election Board. Cheryl Howard, Kay County Election Board Secretary issued a call for volunteers to help conduct elections at the precinct level. Workers are needed in several precincts across Kay County.

To qualify for the job you must be a registered voter in the county. A precinct official may hold no other offices under the laws of the state, such as school board member or city councilman. A precinct official may not be related to or employed by a candidate for office.

The election board will train precinct officials. Volunteers may work long hours, but will only work a few days a year. The position of Inspector pays $97 per election, while all other positions pay $87 per election.

Apply at the Kay County Election Board office at 201 S. Main St. in Newkirk, in the basement of the Kay County Courthouse. Anyone interested should contact the County Election Board office at 580-362-2130.
