OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The number of Oklahomans applying for concealed or unconcealed firearms licenses is expected to decrease after two record-breaking years.
The Oklahoman reports from Jan. 1 to June 30 more than 22,000 people applied for a license. That’s nearly 15,000 fewer than last year during the same time period.
More than 53,000 applications were received in 2013 and more than 46,000 were received in 2012.
An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesman says the discrepancy isn’t unusual because application numbers tend to vary.
