Guthrie records 4.0 earthquake

GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) – The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a 4.0 magnitude earthquake near Guthrie in central Oklahoma.

The USGS reports the quake was recorded at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday three miles southwest of Guthrie, about 25 miles north of Oklahoma City.

Guthrie police say there are no reports of injury or damage, but that several residents called to report or ask about the temblor.

Geologists say damage is not likely in earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 or below.
