GUTHRIE — A 42-year-old Guthrie man died in a motorcycle accident at 11:06 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 35 in Guthrie.

Adam Been was riding a 2016 Indian Chieftain and was pronounced dead at the scene by Medical Examiner Investigator Janice Wilkinson. His body was transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

His motorcycle was northbound at mile marker 153 on ramp, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. It departed the ramp to the left, striking the ditch, projecting the driver into the outside lane of Interstate 35 northbound.  The motorcycle continued to travel northbound, crossing over the center median, coming to rest on the southbound off ramp.

The patrol’s investigation into the accident continues, but troopers said the cause of the collision was driving too fast for conditions.
