Flood advisory issued

Ponca City Now - May 20, 2019 11:12 am

At 10:53 a.m., the National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Flood Advisory for Kay County in northern Oklahoma and Grant County in northern Oklahoma until 1:45 p.m.
At 10:51 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
One to two inches are possible through early afternoon.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Ponca City, Blackwell, Tonkawa, Medford, Newkirk, Pond Creek, Lamont, Kaw City, Wakita, Braman, Nash, Deer Creek, Manchester, Kildare, Jefferson, Renfrow, Chilocco, Kaw Lake, Hardy and Nardin.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
