Filing period opens Monday for municipal offices

Candidates for municipal offices in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk and Tonkawa, file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2019.

Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 6.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office in Newkirk for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:

Braman

Trustee No. 1 4-Year Term

Trustee No. 3 4-Year Term

Kaw City

Mayor 4-Year Term

Councilmember Ward 2 4-Year Term

Councilmember Ward 4 4-Year Term

Newkirk

Mayor Unexpired 2-Year Term

Commissioner No. 2 3-Year Term

Tonkawa

Councilmember Ward 3 4-Year Term

Councilmember Ward 4 4-Year Term

Councilmember At Large 4-Year Term

The municipal offices at stake in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk, and Tonkawa will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 2, 2019.

A Run-off Election (if needed) for the City of Newkirk will be held Sept. 10, 2019.
