Family Fun Day, Healthy Kids Day on YMCA’s April calendar

The YMCA of Ponca City has a variety of programs and special events on the schedule during the month of April.  Activities include Family Fun Day, Healthy Kids Day, adult sports, aquatics and child care programs.  Spring is here and it’s a great time to join the Y.

Membership benefits include drop-in child care during workouts, free youth sports, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, aquatic / fitness classes, indoor walking track, racquetball courts, swimming in the family pool or lap pool, climbing wall, after school and summer child care programs and a great place to spend quality time with friends and family.

Ponca City Family Fun Day is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14.  Join OSU Basketball players and students for a fun day of activities, including basketball training, hand mural art, bingo and more.  This is a free community event open to everyone.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21.  This is a free community event to promote a summer of healthy activities and programs.  Activities will include a Fun Run, summer program information, games, prizes and free access to the Y for the day.  The first 100 kids to arrive will receive a free T-shirt.  Swimming, rock wall climbing, and inflatable games will all be part of the fun.

Adult Coed Dodge Ball League team registration currently is underway.  Games will be held Tuesday evenings starting April 24.  Team forms are available online at ymcaofponcacity.net

The After School Child Care Program is ongoing during the school year for students ages 4 and older.  The program is held Monday through Friday until 6 pm.  Activities include arts / crafts, healthy snacks, gym games and teamwork activities.  Registration packets are available at the front desk.

The Y has many benefits for older adults, including group fitness and aquatic classes, warm water family pool with zero depth entry, indoor walking track, machine weights, cardio equipment and a great place to hang out with friends.
