Join us for our Mental Health Festival!

Purpose of Event: Highlight the importance of mental health and to connect community members to local mental health resources

Community Health Needs Assessment conducted in partnership with INTEGRIS Health Ponca City

*Five priority areas identified: Mental health, substance abuse, food insecurity, obesity, and access to care

*In several categories related to mental health, Kay County’s prevalence was WORSE than Oklahoma:
– Depression disorder: 30.4%, state 24.4%
– Poor mental health days (14+ days/30 days): 18.4%, state 17.4%
– Suicide rate: 30/100,000, state 21/100,000
– Disconnected youth: 12%, state 8%
– Mental health professional access: 420:1, state 230:1

*When asked to consider mental wellbeing and what county leaders should give priority to for the next three years, the top answers were: expanding access to mental health treatment and counseling, addressing substance abuse and addiction, educating on mental health awareness and resources, and enhancing insurance coverage of mental health treatment and counseling
