Ponca City Now - September 20, 2018 11:02 am

The third annual  Mollie Kelly Memorial Epilepsy Walk is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Hutchins Walking Trail, 706 North Seventh Street. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the Lutheran School Cafeteria.

Cost is $30 for a family walk, $20 for an individual walk, and $8 for an extra T-shirt.

This walk is sponsored by the Ponca City Area Epilepsy Support Group to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation for Oklahoma and the Mollie Kelly Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Mollie Kelly was a first-year student at Southwestern Oklahoma State University studying music therapy. She died of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.

As part of the event, family members and friends have started Miss Mollie’s Stand for Epilepsy, which will allow them to hand out literature, sell lemonade and water, and accept donations.  Funds raised will be split between a music scholarship and the Epilepsy Foundation of Oklahoma.

For more information, contact Lori Kelly at (580) 716-2015 or [email protected], or Natalie McBride at (580) 761-4405 or [email protected].
