Emergency meeting of County Commissioners set for 10 a.m.

NEWKIRK — The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County will hold an emergeny meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, in the Commissioners’ Court on the first floor of the Kay County Courthouse.

As part of the opening ceremonies, commissioners will hold a moment of silence in memory of Commissioner Vance Johnson, who died Tuesday afternoon.

Agenda items include consideration, discussion and possible action on:

  • Ongoing business of District 1.
  • Sending a Board of County Commissioners request to Gov. Mary Fallin to hold a special election.
  • Closing the Courthouse for memorial services for Johnson.
