Earthquakes shake Medford area

MEDFORD, Okla. (AP) – A swarm of earthquakes has rattled the Medford area in northern Oklahoma, including a magnitude 4.0 quake.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake struck at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday. Its epicenter was less than one mile east of Medford, which is about 100 miles north of Oklahoma City.

The USGS says the temblor was one of three earthquakes that were recorded in the Medford area in less than one hour Tuesday morning. There were no immediate reports of damage.
