Drowning victim identified; investigation continues

Four-year-old Haley M. Primeaux died as a result of a drowning incident Monday night.

Haley, along with several other children, had been at the swim beach at Ponca Lake in the care of her 26-year-old aunt and 53-year-old grandmother.

Bystanders at the swim beach administered CPR until ambulance personnel arrived.

The Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a possible drowning at 6:37 p.m. Ambulance, rescue and police personnel responded. Haley was transported to the Ponca City Medical Center and was pronounced dead at approximately 8 p.m.

The investigation by the Ponca City Police Department and the Department of Human Services is continuing.
