Declarations of Candidacy filing period to open

From the Kay County Election Board:

Candidates for municipal offices in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk and Tonkawa, file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021.

Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office in Newkirk for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:

Braman

Trustee No. 2 4-Year Term

Trustee No. 4 4-Year Term

Trustee No. 5 4-Year Term

Treasurer 4-Year Term

Kaw City

Councilmember Ward 1 4-Year Term

Councilmember Ward 3 4-Year Term

Newkirk

Mayor 3-Year Term

Tonkawa

Councilmember Ward 1 4-Year Term

Councilmember Ward 2 4-Year Term

 

The municipal offices at stake in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk, and Tonkawa will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 6, 2021.

A Run-off Election (if needed) for the City of Newkirk will be held September 14, 2021.
