Corps of Engineers announces campground closures at Kaw Lake

The U.S. Corps of Engineers has announced some campground and boat ramp closures at Kaw Lake, beginning Thursday, because of high water.

The status of the parks, campgrounds and ramps is as follows:

  • Coon Creek Campground, closed
  • Sarge Creek Campground, closed
  • McFadden Campground, closed
  • Washunga Bay Campground, closed
  • Pioneer Beach/ Sandy Beach, closed
  • Osage Cove Campground, partial closure
  • Sandy Park, open
  • Bear Creek, partial closure by weekend
  • Coon Creek boat ramp, closed
  • Sarge Boat Ramp, closed
  • Osage low-water boat ramp, closed
  • Washunga boat ramp, closed
  • Bear Creek boat ramp, closed by weekend
  • Traders Bend boat ramp, closed
  • Osage high-water boat ramp, open
  • McFadden boat ramp, open
  • Pioneer boat ramp, open.
