Commissioners review snow, ice policy

Ponca City Now - December 29, 2015 12:18 pm

Ponca City’s Board of Commissioners reviewed the city’s ice and snow control manual Monday night during the commissioners’ meeting.

Rob Dick, assistant public works director, outlined the order in which city streets are cleared and reminded commissioners that the time a storm occurs dictates what actions are taken and in which order.

Crews put sand and salt on the main routes Sunday during the sleet storm. The Street, Park, Airport, Solid Waste and water departments all assist during such storms and in some cases outside contractors are hired.
