City commissioners on Monday approved a development agreement with Bob Hurley Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for construction of a dedicated left turn lane, southbound, in the 3500 block of North 14th Street.

The board also voted to authorize advertising for bids on the project. Advertising will probably begin on Wednesday, Nov. 15, and bid opening will be Dec. 7. Traffic Engineering Manager Mike Lane said construction would probably take 30 days.

The red circle on the photo shows the location of a new parking area installed just north of the existing dealership for additional vehicle display. The left turn lane would be in front of the existing building, and an existing driveway will be closed, Lane said. The new parking area covers about three acres.

Hurley will split the cost of the turn lane with the City of Ponca City, according to the agreement.
