A man was arrested in Claremore for planning to burglarize homes hit by the tornado.

Claremore Police and Rogers County Sheriff’s Deputies said Koby Thompson planned to burglarize homes while cleanup efforts were underway.

Officials said it appeared he’d already had a home picked out that he believed had firearms and other valuables.

He was stopped by Claremore police officers and was arrested as he left his home to commit the crime.

When he was arrested, police found burglary tools and clothing to hide his identity in his car.

He was arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary and also had outstanding felony warrants out of the Cherokee Nation Attorney General’s Office for endangering others while eluding and malicious injury to property.

He’s suspected of dozens of burglaries in the Claremore and Rogers County area, according to police.
