City Says Recent Boil Warning Did Not Impact Ponca City’s Treated Water Supply

Ponca City Now - August 30, 2024 8:41 am

On August 28, 2024 the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality issued a site-specific boil warning about water usage. This warning had no impact or application to any of Ponca City’s treated water supplied to citizens and surrounding rural areas.
The warning was issued due to unauthorized use of the City’s raw water supply line that serves the water treatment plant, for a residential use. The situation has been addressed and the raw water is no longer being used.
Some citizens were alarmed by the warning and the City wants to reassure everyone that this issue never had any impact on Ponca City’s treated water supply.
