Ponca City resident Blake Shephard, 18, was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 9:17 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 77, just south of First Council Casino, 3 miles north of Newkirk.

He was transported by EagleMed to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.

Shephard’s 2004 Ford collided with a 2000 Dodge driven by Steven Collingsworth, 42, of Oxford, Kansas. Collingsworth and the three passengers in his vehicle were uninjured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Shepard was traveling northbound on U.S. 77 and Collingsworth was southbound when Shepard’s vehicle drifted across the center line and struck Collingsworth’s truck in the bed.
