Chickasaw Nation To Host Annual Humanities Forum

ADA, Okla. (AP) – The third annual "Carry the Fire" Native Humanities Forum is planned at the Chickasaw Nation Arts and Humanities building in Ada.

Thursday’s forum will feature a panel of four scholars and is an opportunity for dialogue among Native and non-Native people. The subject is Native humanities and the development and welfare of local communities and the state of Oklahoma.

Basic tenets of the humanities, historic contributions of Native and non-Native humanities, important current initiatives and cross-cultural understanding and cooperation will be discussed.

The forum is free and open to the public. It is being conducted in conjunction with National Arts and Humanities Month.
