Chess Club takes the cookies

Players from Ponca City's First Lutheran School Chess Club swept the Tulsa Chess Club Cookie Blitz Tournament held at a Panera Bread in Tulsa on Saturday, July 23.

The four FLS Chess Club members who were in attendance took home 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. First place and a perfect 5.0 score went to Cason Wilson, 6th grade student at West Middle School. Second place was a tie with 3.5 points between FLS Chess Club student Colter Wilson (3rd grade, Roosevelt) and Samantha Glover (5th grade, Tulsa University School). Joel Ulahannan and Wesley Vaughan (5th and 2nd, respectively, First Lutheran) tied for third with 3.0 points.
