Cherokee Strip Cook-off

Ponca City Now - September 12, 2013 9:47 am

This weekend’s competition will be finger licking good!

Starting tomorrow grill masters will be cooking for their chance to attend the Kansas City Royal Barbeque Society competition.

Debbi Troxell said each team will cook ribs, pork and chicken.

“All the proceeds from our event go to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and they have for 27 years," Troxell said. "We have contributed over $350,000 to hospice.”

There will also be a people’s choice category.

You can buy your tickets ahead of time at any Ponca City bank or at the Chamber of Commerce to try some freshly grilled brisket and chili.

The winner of KCBS and people’s choice category receive cash prizes.
