Chamber Chat

Ponca City Now - October 8, 2018 8:49 am

Rich Cantillon

The Chamber is in its 33rd year of Leadership Ponca City. The sessions with this important program include Motivation and Leadership, History of Ponca City, Industry Day, Arts and Culture, County Government, Education, State Government and City Government. We also have an orientation day, retreat and graduation ceremony.

Our session next week is on Civic and Human Services. Last year during the day we learned about Edwin Fair, Golden Villa, Northern Oklahoma Youth Services and RSVP.

The class also toured Hospice of North Central Oklahoma. They traveled to the Emergency Resource Agency, the Child Development Center and the Opportunity Center. They learned about the Mission and also about Friendship Feast.

Other entities they learned about included Marland Children’s Home, Dearing House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Peachtree Landing, Ponca City Literacy Council and the Survivor Resource Network.

Melissa Young with United Way of Ponca City is the Day Chair for this session. She will meet with our Leadership Chairs to plan out the day for this year.
