Cause of refinery fire under investigation

Ponca City Now - January 3, 2020 11:52 am

Scott Wallace, the HRBP Manager for the Phillips 66 Ponca City Refinery, said Friday morning the cause of a fire in a process unit on Thursday remains under investigation.

Wallace said the fire occurred about 4 p.m. and was extinguished at about 8 p.m.

He said that while there were no impacts to personnel or the community, refinery personnel were dispatched off-site to monitor air quality in an abundance of caution.

“All data indicates that there has been no off-site impact,” Wallace said.

The refinery continues to operate with the exception of the affected area.
