Construction project for Union Street Bridge over Highland Avenue to begin in May
The Ponca City Commission has approved a contract and authorized the Mayor to execute contract documents with K & R Builders, Inc. for the rehabilitation project on Union Street Bridge over Highland Avenue in the amount of $917,270.46.

New details show that plane involved in crash near Pond Creek was “nearly vertical”
News Channel 8 in Tulsa reports that a plane that crashed in northern Oklahoma, killing three Nebraskans, was nearly vertical when in struck the ground, according to a preliminary report released Tuesday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Earthquake shakes parts of Oklahoma Sunday
An earthquake with a 3.2-magnitude was reported Sunday morning in central Oklahoma.
The quake happened just after 10 a.m. According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter was located 3.9 miles east-northeast of Edmond and 14 miles south of Guthrie.
