Candidates to file for Newkirk Commissioner No. 1 seat

NEWKIRK  — Candidates for municipal office of Commissioner Number 1 of the City of Newkirk file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.

Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office at 201 S. Main St., Newkirk, for the indicated office. The Election Board Office remains open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the filing period.

The municipal office at stake in Newkirk will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 7, 2020. A runoff election, if required, will be held on June 30, 2020.
