Branstetter wins scholarship to John Brown University

Ponca City Senior High School student Levi Branstetter has received John Brown University’s highest academic scholarship: the Presidential Scholarship.

This is JBU’s only full tuition scholarship, and only four incoming students receive it each year. The scholarship is awarded based on excellent academic and extracurricular accomplishments and his outstanding performance in multiple interviews at the scholarship competition.

Branstetter was surprised in his classroom with a special scholarship presentation. Po-Hi principal Thad Dilbeck was the first one to enter the classroom, and he called Branstetter to the front. James Cooke, Counselor for Engineering & Construction Management Students from John Brown University, entered the room next carrying a huge John Brown balloon bouquet. He presented Branstetter a $24,500 per year scholarship for four years, totaling $98,000. Levi’s parents, Rex and Wendy Branstetter, also were present.

John Brown University is a private Christian interdenominational university in Siloam Springs, Ark.
