OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A public memorial is planned for a longtime Oklahoma sportscaster who was killed Saturday in an automobile accident.

The family of Bob Barry Jr. says the service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City and is open to the public. The 58-year-old died Saturday after a vehicle collided with his motor scooter.

Twenty-six-year-old Gustavo Castillo Gutierrez remained in the Oklahoma County Jail Monday morning on $18,500 bond. His charges include manslaughter and drug possession.

Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney for Gutierrez.

Oklahoma City police say Gutierrez caused the fatal crash by making an illegal U-turn.

Barry is the son of iconic Oklahoma sportscaster Bob Barry Sr. and replaced his father as KFOR-TV’s sports director in 1997.
