Blackwell, Stillwater residents in Marland personal injury collision

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 09:03 a.m. Sunday at State Highway 156 and County Road 190 in Marland, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2018 Nissan Versa driven by Savannah Cherize Edwards (SIC), 20, of Stillwater, OK. Edwads was transported by Ponca City EMS to Stillwater Hospital, where she was admitted in stable condition with trunk external injuries.

A passenger in Edwards’ vehicle, Clifton Fairchild (SIC), 20, of Blackwell, OK was transported by Ponca City EMS to Stillwater Hospital Admitted in stable condition with leg injuries.

A second passenger in Edwards’ vehicle, a juvenile whose name has been withheld, of Stillwater, OK was not injured.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Edwards’ vehicle was northbound on State Highway 156 when it tried to pass another vehicle. The vehicle departed the roadway to the left and struck a light pole. Seatbelts were equipped and in use. Airbags were equipped and delpoyed. The report notes icy conditions on the 2-lane asphalt road and the cause of the collision is attributed to unsafe speeds.

Investigated by Trooper Joshua Kelle #493 of the Kay/Noble County detachment of Troop K. Trooper John Terrell #516 of Troop K, Ponca City Fire Department, Marland Fire Department, and Noble County Sheriff’s Office.
