BLACKWELL — The second annual Blackwell "Night of Lights" Christmas parade is at 6:30 p.m. tonight in downtown Blackwell.

The lineup will be at the Fairgrounds and the parade will proceed north on Main to Dewey Street.

The event is sponsored by the City of Blackwell in cooperation with the Blackwell Chamber of Commerce and the Hometown Improvement Project.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in the parade. Donations to help with expenses can be made at the Chamber office.

Santa will visit with the children in the Downtown Pocket Park after the parade, so bring a camera. The children will be treated to a cookie and hot chocolate.

During the evening, downtown merchants will be hosting Open Houses at their businesses to kick off the holiday shopping season.

Entries are still welcome. Call the Blackwell Chamber office at (580) 363-4195 to register your entry.
