Tulsa, Okla. (AP) — Police in Tulsa say an auto theft suspect was fatally shot by officers when the man tried to run them over with a pickup truck.

Officer Jeanne Pierce said police found the man at a hotel on Thursday and he got into a pickup truck, then rammed a police vehicle and tried to run over officers as they got out of the vehicle. Pierce said four officers then opened fire, killing the man, whose name has not been released.

Pierce said the officers are on paid leave and the FBI will investigate the shooting.
