Authorities work to identify man found dead on highway

WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) – Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was found on a highway in eastern Oklahoma near the state’s border with Arkansas.
West Siloam Springs Police Chief Larry Barnett says the body was discovered early Thursday along Scenic 412. Barnett says the body had been run over repeatedly.
Barnett tells the Tulsa World that the body was sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death. No identification has been made.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says its crime scene unit is assisting in the case.
