Michael Lunday, a 55-year-old Oklahoma City attorney, was arrested after investigators said he drove to Mustang to have sex with a fictitious 5-year-old girl that he believed was real.

A 55-year-old Oklahoma City attorney was arrested after the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office said he drove to Mustang to have sex with a fictitious 5-year-old girl.

Michael Lunday was taken into custody after a sting operation at a home on Thursday.

Investigators with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office said a confidential informant told them she had been in communication with Lunday, who allegedly wanted to arrange to have sex with a child. The sheriff’s office said Lunday went to the home to finalize the details with the informant.

The sheriff’s office used hidden cameras in the house as part of the operation. The sheriff’s office said Lunday told the informant he liked younger girls because he believed “sexual abuse does not affect them as much.”

Lunday also allegedly wanted to watch child pornography before the child arrived “in order to warm himself up and settle his nerves,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office also said Lunday admitted to the informant that he had watched child pornography in the past.

Investigators said Lunday was taken into custody after $400 was exchanged with the confidential informant. Investigators said the money was going to be split between the informant and a fictitious foster parent providing the child.

According to investigators, they found a receipt in the informant’s kitchen that showed Lunday had stopped at Target just minutes before getting to the house and bought condoms and lubrication.

Lunday was arrested for lewd acts with a child under 12 and soliciting child prostitution.

“This sting operation was carried out in a very professional manner by my investigators, and the confidential informant’s role in Lunday’s arrest was paramount in making the operation a success,” said Chris West, Canadian County Sheriff.

Lunday was brought to the Canadian County Detention Facility, and his bond was set at $200,000.

Investigators were able to get a search warrant for Lunday’s home and a raid carried out on Friday turned up a number of electronic devices, including a laptop, an iPad, and his cell phone.

The investigation is ongoing to see if there are more victims, according to the sheriff’s office.
