The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee has canceled a Saturday night celebration of King’s life because of expected inclement weather.

The Saturday night event was to feature Cameo and 1 Way,  a gospel group from Wichita, Kansas.

An Interfaith Prayer Breakfast will take place as scheduled at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16. The door opens at 7:30 a.m. Prayers for our nation, community, and our leadership will be given by local ministers.

Guest speaker for the program will be Don Echols, Pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Ponca City. Pastor Echols will speak on this year’s celebration theme, “It Begins With A Dream.”
