Apartment fire claims life of child in Guthrie

GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) – Firefighters in Guthrie say a child has been found dead inside a burned apartment complex.

Firefighters were called to the complex in east Guthrie about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday and say the child’s body was found after the fire was extinguished. Firefighters say several residents of the complex were injured when they jumped from the second floor of the building to escape the flames.

A suspected cause of the fire has not been released.
