Amtrak inspection train stops in Ponca City

An Amtrak inspection train made it’s stop in Ponca City Friday morning.  The train is making it’s way from Oklahoma City to Kansas City to inspect stops on a possible extension of  The Heartland Flyer route.

A good sized crowd turned out in Ponca City at the old train depot on East Oklahoma Avenue to greet the train and it’s passengers.  Previous stops this morning included Perry and Guthrie.

Passengers included Amtrak officials and elected officials including Ponca City mayor Homer Nicholson.
