The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week is Po-Hi Senior Alyssa Darbonne.

“Alyssa is a Po-Hi Wildcat who exemplifies the characteristics of the Wildcat Way. She is a senior co-editor of the Cat Tale and whenever anyone sees Alyssa before classes, between classes, and during lunch, they KNOW she is working on all things yearbook,” Superintendent Shelley Arrott said.

“Alyssa is a proud Wildcat and, along with the rest of the Cat Tale staff, she strives to make the yearbook relevant and meaningful so each student has an accurate lasting memory of their high school experience. Without doubt, she has a strong work ethic, because, in addition to her dedication to the yearbook, she maintains straight “A”s, is a member of the National Honor Society and Students Standing Strong, and has been a manager for the Lady Cat Volleyball team for the last four years.

“Alyssa has the most positive attitude, a pleasant demeanor, and is respectful to everyone. Her spirit is sweet and she has a caring heart. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Oklahoma State University to become a veterinarian,” Arrott said.

“Alyssa, thank you for staying true to yourself and allowing nothing to get in the way of your drive, your positive attitude, your leadership, and achieving your goals. You are an asset to the Cat Tale staff, and when I mentioned to your class you were the editor of the Cat Tale, you quickly recognized and gave credit to your co-editor, which tells me you are a true team player!  It only takes moments to recognize your sweet and caring demeanor. I know you will be an excellent veterinarian!  Thank you for all you do to exude the characteristics of the Wildcat Way. Your family and school family are proud of the way you represent with integrity!”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round. The award is sponsored by TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon Honda, Tyndall Family Dentistry, Ground Round, and Legacy Signs. The award is open to ANY Ponca City High School student. TEAM Radio makes the final selections and coordinates with school officials for presentations. Please use this link to nominate a high school student for Wildcat of the Week: https://www.poncacitynow.com//32875-2/
