Accidental shooting victim dies

OWASSO, Okla. (AP) – Owasso police say a man who was accidentally shot in the head by his friend has died.

Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff says 28-year-old Robert Sapp died Tuesday morning at an area hospital from his injuries.

Police responded to an area apartment complex early Monday after a 26-year-old man called 911 to report the shooting. He says he was handling a .22-caliber rifle when it went off.

The identity of the shooter hasn’t been released. No arrests or charges have been reported.

Police say the shooter is cooperating with the investigation.
