Absentee voter registration deadline approaching

Ponca City Now - October 22, 2014 7:54 am

Registered voters have exactly one week to apply for general election absentee ballots, which allows voters to vote by mail. Kay County Election Board secretary, Cheryl Howard said absentee ballots can be mailed to you without stating a reason. The only stipulation is the application must be in the hands of the election board no later than 5 p.m. next Wednesday. Absentee voters may apply in person at the Election Board in the basement of the County Courthouse or sent in via mail or fax. The general election, which will determine things like Oklahoma’s Governor and State Superintendent of Public Instruction is Nov. 4.
