Veteran Expo 15 set for Friday at Pioneer Technology Center

The Veteran Expo 15 will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Technology Center.

Randall "Bud" Coon with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission in Ponca City said s ervices for veterans from all over the state are coming here Friday.

"We have 35 service providers from all over the state who will come to Pioneer Tech Center from 10 to 3 p.m. Friday ," Coon said .

He said the expo is not just for veterans, but also their relatives, friends and the public.

"Anybody can come. We’ll have lunch and door prizes and e verything is free," he said.

The Vet Expo is designed as an opportunity to build a stronger connection between the North Central area partners and agencies to provide the greatest service to our American Heroes, Coon said.

"Our goal is to create a best practice to better serve our Veterans, and the general public interested in available resources," Coon said. " The Expo will feature VA and community support programs that are available to Veterans with an emphasis on Native American and women veterans and their families."

Other vendors will be from state, federal, non-profit and social service agencies.

Oklahoma Employment Security Commission staff and other Oklahoma Works Partners and community agencies will also be on hand to guide the attendees to the vendors that will offer on-the-spot assistances and address questions or concerns on an individual basis.

Free pizza from Marco’s and beverages will be provided while supplies last. The first 50 people in the door will receive free event shirts from Ponca Tees, a Ponca Tribal owned Company.

Hourly drawings of 25 Chamber Bucks will be provided by 3B Bail Bonds.
