The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a 16-year-old Chickasha girl was injured in an accident on U.S. 177 just north of 92nd Street, 2.1 miles north of the Perkins city limits in Payne County at 6:10 p.m. Sunday.
The girl was transported by LifeNet ambulance and then transported to EagleMed to OU Medical Center in critical condition with head and leg injuries.
The girl, whose name was withheld, was struck by a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Kathryn Elizabeth Hall, 36, of Perkins. Neither Hall nor a 14-year-old Perkins boy in her car were injured.
The car was northbound on U.S. 177 in the outside lane and moved to the inside lane to yield to a vehicle parked on the shoulder. The girl was standing in the inside lane for an unknown reason and was struck by the car, the Highway Patrol said.
