Pioneer Tech names students of the month

The Pioneer Technology Center September Students of the Month are Cole McVey and Cheyenne Durbin.
McVey, from Kaw City, is a student in the Business and Information Technology Education program that concentrates on information technology.
“Cole is a self-starter with plans to enter the workforce after his education is completed at Pioneer Tech," said i nstructor Zac Lad n er . "His positive attitude, work ethic and attendance have been impeccable.”
Representing the trade and service industry is Cheyenne Durbin, a senior at Tonkawa High School. She is the current FCCLA ( Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) president, a member of the PTC Student Leadership Academy and leads other students by example in the classroom. Durbin is using her knowledge of the Culinary Arts field by working in the Northern Oklahoma College cafeteria.
“I plan to become a police officer in the future, but I love cooking and expanding my knowledge in Culinary Arts, ”she said. “I believe the Culinary Arts program has enhanced my skills and techniques for handling knives safely. My experience at PTC has made me a better person. I have found friends and my smile.”
