Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival Oct. 1-3

Ponca City Now - September 18, 2015 12:49 pm

Oklahoma’s International Bluegrass Festival will be held Oct. 1-3 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, for the 19th year.

The festival is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization which provides scholarships to young acoustic musicians to further their study of music.

The OIBF is a family event with music, art and workshops, all to promote the bluegrass music genre.

John Fullbright has been booked as the entertainer for the Friday Night Late Show. That show will also feature the Red Dirt Rangers with a special tribute to Tom Skinner. Skinner, a noted bluegrass singer and songwriter, passed away recently.

This year’s headliner is Suzy Bogguss.

A host of musicians will provide three full days of live entertainment, including international performers.

Tickets can be ordered online at http://www.oibf.com or call (405) 282-4446 or 1-877-203-1206.
