Six injured in accident near Braman

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports several people were injured in an accident on 44th one-tenth of a mile north of Fork road, one mile south of Braman in Kay County about 5:25 p.m. Friday.

A 2004 Chevrolet was driven northbound by Destiny Turner, 21, of Ponca City. Turner drove into a dust cloud formed by another northbound vehicle, the patrol said. Turner swerved to the left to miss the other vehicle, went into a ditch, rolled one time, struck a telephone pole on the passenger side and came to rest facing east.

A 2-year-old girl from Braman was transported by Blackwell EMS to the Blackwell hospital and then transported by Blackwell EMS to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. She was admitted in stable condition with head injuries.

A 4-year-old girl from Braman also was transported to the Blackwell hospital and then to Wesley Hospital. She was admitted in stable condition with arm and trunk internal injuries.

A 16-year-old boy was transported to the Blackwell hospital by Blackwell EMS. He was treated and released.

A 13-year-old girl from Braman was transported to the Blackwell hospital by Blackwell EMS and was treated and released. The Highway Patrol said this passneger was ejected when the vehicle rolled, landing approximately 30 feet south of the vehicle.

Destiny Kreger, 21, of Braman, was transported by Blackwell EMS to the Blackwell hospital and then flown by Eaglemed to Wesley Hospital in Wichita. She was admitted in fair condition with trunk internal injuries. The Highway Patrol said this p assenger was ejected when vehicle rolled, landing approximately 20 feet north of the vehicle.

The patrol reported the 2-year-old and 4-year-old girls were in child restraints and the 16-year-old was wearing a seat belt. Turner, the 13-year-old and Kreger were not wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

The OHP report cited speed greater than reasonable and proper as the cause of the accident.
