Thornburgh takes new position at Pioneer Tech

Johnny Thornburgh, former Manufacturing Extension Agent for this region, has moved positions, but not his office.

Thornburgh has become Pioneer Technology Center’s new Industrial Coordinator. This new role is nothing new for Thornburgh, whose office is located in the PTC Business and Industry Services building.

“I’m excited to once again to be an official employee of Pioneer Tech,” Thornburgh said. He served as the Industrial Technology instructor at PTC for four years prior to his Manufacturing Extension Agent position.

The unique relationship between the Manufacturing Extension Agent and PTC works to compliment and be a valuable tool for business improvement. Northern Oklahoma College, the Manufacturing Alliance and Pioneer Technology Center share the extension agent position.

“I will most likely work closely with the next agent and I’m excited about that,” Thornburgh said.

He said he is excited to be working with area manufacturers, but also with other aspects of industry in the PTC district.

“With this position I will be helping businesses with training needs, customized training and just about anything. Really, businesses should call us even if they believe we do not provide the service. Chances are we do or we can find someone else to help them,” he said.
