ENID, Okla. (AP) – Police in Enid say a body found outside a home on the city’s west side has been identified as that of a woman reported missing more than a week ago.

Capt. Jack Morris said Friday that the state medical examiner’s office used fingerprints to identify the body as that of 47-year-old Doreen Ward. The owners of a house at the location found the body on Tuesday in the backyard of the home.

The Enid News & Eagle reports that Ward had been last seen on July 25 and that her family had searched for her for 10 days.

Morris said the cause of the woman’s death has not been determined.
