CRAZY DAYS

Thursday through Saturday are the biggest sale days of the year in Ponca City with Crazy Days! In addition to sales at local merchants, there are many fun events scheduled downtown on Friday. The Crazy Days Street Party is from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday with three live bands, nine food and beverage vendors, a sidewalk chalk art contest, a ping-pong ball drop for prizes and more.

THE BROKEN STATUE

"The Broken Statue," which tells the story of E.W. Marland and his second wife, Lydie, continues its 2015 production this weekend at the Ponca Playhouse. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday. Tickets are $20 each. Call the box office at 580-765-5360. This is the third season for this play by Bob Perry.

AT THE LIBRARY

Enjoy free popcorn and drinks with the free all-ages movie about a super hero family at 1 p.m. Friday. Then on Saturday, join in the End of the Summer Roundup from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the library lawn. This free event includes a 40-foot obstacle course, live animals and all kinds of carnival games. In the event of bad weather, the games will be moved inside to the program room in the library basement.

FLY-IN BREAKFAST

The monthly Fly-In Breakfast, open to the public, will be from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ponca City Airport. The buffet is $7 for adults and $4 for children in the m ain dinning area in the Ponca City Aviation Booster Clubhouse.

ALL FIRED UP STEAK DINNER

This benefit dinner and auction is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Marland Mansion. The event is hosted by the Ponca City Fire and Life Safety Council and the Ponca City Fire Foundation. This year’s proceeds are earmarked for the construction of a fire training tower. There will be live music, hot auction items and a grilling competition among teams of firefighters.
