OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Boeing has broken ground for the newest facility in its Oklahoma City campus, a 290,000 square-foot building that will house about 800 employees.

This is the third structure in Boeing’s Oklahoma City campus. Work on the building began Wednesday and it’s scheduled to open next summer. It will house employees in engineering, research and development laboratories and support staff.

In addition, Boeing Global Services and Support unit President Leanne Caret says the headquarters of its Aircraft Modernization and Sustainment division will relocate to Oklahoma City during the next few months.

The division provides support and modernization for lift, executive transport, airborne refueling, airborne command and control and global strike capabilities.
