STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) – Blue Cross Blue Shield has named Oklahoma State University the 2015 Champion of Health in the Corporate Health Champion category.

The health insurance organization has given out Champion of Health awards since 2004. It recognizes the organizations, projects and programs that work to overcome Oklahoma’s negative health statistics.

Chief Wellness Officer Suzy Harrington says Blue Cross Blue Shield has been a key collaborator to enhance wellness in OSU’s work environment. Harrington says a multifocal, multi-level approach is required for success.

Harrington says OSU defines wellness broadly. The university works to transform health for students, employees and the communities in which they live and work by striving to harmonize the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and professional dimensions of wellness.

The university will be recognized at a Sept. 29 event in Tulsa.
