Canton Lake near capacity again

Ponca City Now - June 16, 2015 9:38 am

CANTON, Okla. (AP) – Canton Lake is almost full after Oklahoma City drew down the reservoir to replenish the metro area’s water supply.

The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1KUT8w1 ) reports the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said the lake’s "conservation pool" was at 63 percent of capacity and has risen to within 5 feet of being full.

The reservoir, which is about 100 miles upstream from Oklahoma City, was down 13 feet in mid-June 2013. It was only at about 20 percent capacity.
